Our History
The city Schiltach was founded in the 13th Century on the streets from Strasbourg to the Upper Danube Valley via Rottweil. Therefore Schiltach had the task to support the people passing through by foot, on horseback or by carriage - not only with craftsmen, but also with hostels. Among these hostels was probably the later such called "weyßes Rößle" (J. Hauth, 11/15/1976).
1590: On the list of persons damaged by fire is Hannß Gaißler, butcher. After reconstruction in 1591, the hostel is not situated exactly at the former place (new town plan).
Today, in 2011, 11 generations later, Johann Ulrich Adolf Wolber, his direct descendant, is owner of the hotel "Zum weyßen Rößle" for 35 years.
